McElroy Guitars at Abbey Road Studios, London

The North American Guitar held an event at Abbey Road Studio's historic Studio 2 on the 17th of May.

The event was held to bring  guitar aficionados, collectors and investors together to meet luthiers and sample the custom guitars that The North American Guitar represent.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend, but the fact that my guitars were actually recorded at Abbey Road Studios has my head spinning!!

The North American Guitar recently completed a commission for Esquire magazine (UK addition). The guitar (a generation 2 - OOO model in Claro Walnut and Bearclaw Sitka Spruce) was inlaid in Sterling silver with the magazine's "Esky" mascot and logo at the 12th fret.

The Launch of The North American Guitar

I was in London this past week for a very special occasion. It was the launch party for a new London based European dealership: The North American Guitar.

As the guest of honor at this gala event, I had to speak….I was nervous as hell!!! But I was told I did good.

This event was planned to coincide with the release of the 50th issue of Acoustic Magazine, mostly but because there was a double feature about my guitars, but also because Acoustic Magazine is one of the biggest supporters of the acoustic guitar community in the UK.

I of course knew about the feature article that was going to be in the 50th issue. But I had NO idea about the cover until Shirley and I met up with the fabulous Michael Watts outside our hotel a couple of days before the event. Michael walked up and greeted us, and then out of his bag he pulls a copy of the magazine and holds it up for us to see. I believe I just about fainted!!!!

Ben Montague provided some of the evening entertainment as did Michael Watts

The events I experienced this last week in London were just unbelievable, I don’t remember how many times I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

I’d like to thank EVERYONE involved but especially Robert Montague, Michael Watts,  for making this all happen.

And of course a big thank you to Acoustic Magazine for such a great review!

Thank you!!!
